Here is the first Crossmatrix I've created. Much like a crossword or crossnumber, the task is to determine the matrices based on clues and enter them into the grid. Sometimes, only some of the elements can be enterred and sometimes you need to use two clues in conjunction to determine elements.
It requires knowledge of AS Further Maths, as well as the transpose of a matrix. It involves problem solving and working backwards. For example, working from invariant lines back to the matrix might be something students haven't seen before. From experience, most students finish it around 1 hour.
The main version (a 9x9 grid) can be found on my TES page but I've also created a 5x5 version that you can get an idea of what it's like.
And the solution.
