I found that resources on factorising quadratics jumped around between different forms, so I put together this worksheet. The quadratic expressions are grouped into categories to help students develop fluency with factorising each type of quadratic. I've also sprinkled in some deviation theory to prompt deeper thought.
Once students develop confidence with factorising quadratics, I find it beneficial to discuss how the signs in the quadratic can provide some additional information, to improve efficiency.
For example, if the constant term is negative, but the coefficient of x is positive, you can deduce that the larger and smaller numbers in the brackets are going to be positive and negative, respectively.
